Sexton charged with sodomizing 9-year-old

POLICE have charged a man with raping and sodomising a pupil of St Andrew’s Primary School.

Michael Boyer, of Lot 212 Barr Street, Kitty, in Georgetown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Juliet Holder-Allen yesterday and was refused bail on the indictable charges.

Particulars of the offences said, between June 1 and 16, the accused had carnal knowledge of the nine-year-old girl on three occasions and sodomised her between April 1 and 13.

Defence Counsel Mortimer Coddette said Boyer has been sexton of St Andrew’s Kirk for the past four months after recently retiring from the Special Constabulary.

Police Inspector Gordon Peters, prosecuting, said several other reports of a similar nature against the accused are being investigated.

Boyer returns to Court on July 1.
